The Japan Rail Pass (National)

The Japan Rail Pass is a pass especially designed for visitors of the Japanese nation. You can travel an unlimited amount of times on the entire railway network of “Japan Railways”. You will be able to board high speed trains (Shinkansen) except the “Nozomi”, local services, certain busses, the “Narita Express” (trainconnection between Tokyo Narita Airport and Tokyo city centre), the train on the “Yamanote-line” in Tokyo (public transport) as well as the JR Miyajima ferry. All these avantages proof that the Japan Rail Pass is the key to convenient sight seeing in Japan.
Attention: It is not possible to buy the Japan Rail Pass in Japan. You can purchase it in our offices before your departure to Japan.

Two types of Japan Rail Passes are available: “green” or first class and “ordinary” or second class. Both types are available for 7, 14 or 21 consecutive days, counting from the first day of validation of the pass.

Regional Passes
The Regional Rail Passes (JR Hokkaido / JR East / JR West / JR Kyushu) covers each a particular geographic area of Japan and encourages you to limit your travel to the attractions of that area. These passes may be most advantageous to visitors who have been to Japan before and have seen the main sites of Central Japan. They enable you to explore one of the lesser-known areas: the forests and ski-slopes of Hokkaido, the hot springs of northeast Honshu (JR East), the charming old houses of Kurashiki (JR West), or Nagasaki, the romantic home of Madame Butterfly (JR Kyushu).
